Libreville, Gabon — July 16, 2026 The Compagnie Nationale de Transport (CNT) has recently unveiled its fare structure for urban and interurban transport links across Gabon.
The new tariffs, effective as of July 2026, aim to enhance accessibility and affordability for both local and intercity travelers. For urban routes, the CNT has introduced a variety of fare options.
A trip to Lambaréné is priced at 5,000 FCFA, while travel to Mouila costs 8,000 FCFA. Those heading to Lebamba will pay 10,000 FCFA, with Makokou, Oyem, and Tchibanga set at 12,000 FCFA each.
The longest journey, to Bitam, is priced at 13,000 FCFA. Urban commuters have access to a pass option, with the urban pass available for 17,000 FCFA. Students can benefit from a reduced fare of 5,000 FCFA, while the pass for students is priced at 8,000 FCFA.
A family pass, designed for two individuals, is offered at 35,000 FCFA, and a social pass, the GEF, is available for 3,000 FCFA. These passes allow for unlimited travel during their validity period.
The CNT’s fare structure is part of a broader effort to modernize and streamline transportation services in Gabon.
The company has introduced a fleet of 100 buses with 66 seats, 25 coaches with 28 seats, 12 tank trucks, and 5 semi-trailers to improve service quality and reliability.
The restructuring of the transport sector in Gabon, spearheaded by the creation of the CNT, is a significant step towards addressing previous issues such as vehicle availability and service regularity.
The merger of the Société Gabonaise de Transport (SOGATRA) and Trans’Urb has consolidated operations, making the CNT the dominant player in the transport industry.
As the CNT implements these new services, the future of transportation in Gabon appears to be more efficient and accessible, with the public eagerly anticipating the impact of these changes on their daily commutes and the overall transportation landscape in the country.
