Libreville, Gabon — The housing ministry, supported by the state-run National Real-Estate Company (SNI), has regularized land tenure for 1,130 families who had occupied SNI land without authorization, according to official statements released on Thursday.
The ministry of Housing, Habitat, Urban Planning and Land Registry said the month — long drive, launched 1 February 2026, forms the first phase of an initiative meant to grant formal titles to more than 5,100 households nationwide. Officials described the action as a direct response to long-running disputes over unregistered parcels within SNI holdings.
During an exceptional window that runs until 31 May 2026, transfer fees have been fixed at 600,000 CFA francs for plots up to 2,000 m² and 1.
2 million CFA francs for plots between 2,000 m² and 4,999 m². Regional officials confirmed these rates apply exclusively to the current registration period.
The government stated that families already listed must present themselves at dedicated SNI service points located in Essassa, Bikélé, Nkok, Akanda-Mangouba and Owendo-Nomba Domaine. Reception hours are 7:30 a. M.
