LIBREVILLE, Gabon — The Gabonese Ministry of Planning and Prospective Development, in conjunction with the Ministry of Interior, Security, and Decentralization, is set to host a workshop on the National Growth and Development Plan (PNCD) from April 2 to 3, 2026. The event, scheduled to take place in Libreville, is designed to educate presidents of municipal and departmental councils about the PNCD. The workshop will be attended by leaders from the 100 local collectivities across the nation.
The PNCD, which spans from 2026 to 2030, outlines a strategic framework with six major pillars. These include universal access to water and electricity, modernization of public services, entrepreneurship promotion, modern infrastructure, housing, and digital transformation. Additionally, the plan emphasizes human capital, social justice, economic diversification, environmental resilience, and efficient governance. The document is grounded in the social project of Gabonese President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, and it provides guidance for economic, social, and institutional development in the country.
The workshop is intended to ensure that local leaders have a comprehensive understanding of the PNCD, enabling them to effectively implement public development policies within their jurisdictions.
