Mogadishu, Somalia — Somalia’s Prime Minister, H. E. Hamza Abdi Barre, attended the “Daaci 2026″awards ceremony, which celebrated young participants for their efforts in community awareness and the promotion of good morals. The event, themed “Somali Telling Her Story, “was designed to empower Somali youth in fostering positive values, religious awareness, and social responsibility.
During his address, Prime Minister Barre commended the participants for their dedication to integrity and social cohesion. He emphasized the significance of purposeful work in achieving both material success and spiritual fulfillment, emphasizing the collective responsibility of all sectors, including business, journalism, politics, and academia, in creating a just and ethical society.
The Prime Minister also highlighted several national challenges, such as tribalism, corruption, terrorism, foreign interference, and the decline of cultural values, which he warned were threats to Somalia’s unity and stability. He encouraged young people to use technology and social media to spread constructive narratives and counter harmful content.
Additionally, Prime Minister Barre reaffirmed the government’s commitment to maintaining security in Baidoa, the interim capital of South West State, and stressed the importance of respecting the will of the people in democratic processes. The “Daaci 2026″program exemplifies the nation’s ongoing efforts to involve youth as pivotal agents of social transformation and national development.
