Gabon’s Nyanga Province Undergoes Public Works Evaluation Amid Development Concerns. Libreville, Gabon – An assessment mission, initiated by Special Advisor to the President, Juste Louango Bouyomeka, is underway in Gabon’s Nyanga province, aiming to scrutinize the execution of public projects within the region.
The mission’s scope includes a review of various construction projects, such as the Tchibanga-Mayumba and Tchibanga-Ndendé road axes, the Tchibanga town hall, the single-window office, the state pension fund office, the police officer’s school, and the Tchibanga airport rehabilitation. These projects are central to the province’s development strategy, aimed at improving connectivity, public services, and economic growth. Despite the government’s investment of 7 billion CFA francs in each province, delays have been reported across several projects, prompting discussions between the mission team, local authorities, and the contractors.
The challenges include financial constraints affecting project timelines, which have raised concerns among local residents about the impact on their daily lives and economic prospects.
The Nyanga province’s evaluation mission is a pivotal step towards ensuring that public funds are allocated efficiently and effectively, providing a roadmap for future infrastructure development and addressing the community’s expectations for improved living conditions and economic opportunities.
