Libreville, Gabon — June 19, 2026 – The Direction Générale des Impôts (DGI) of Gabon has taken a pivotal step towards modernizing its fiscal landscape with the official launch of a trio of tax reference works in Libreville.
The publications, including the ‘Précis de fiscalité gabonaise’, the ‘Guide de doctrine fiscale’, and the ‘Recueil de jurisprudence fiscale’, are designed to enhance the accessibility, predictability, and comprehension of Gabon’s tax laws. These tools, developed by the DGI’s Legal and Litigation Department, are intended to facilitate a more accessible and transparent tax system, fostering a stronger legal foundation and trust between the tax authority and taxpayers.
The ‘Précis de fiscalité gabonaise’, supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), offers an educational overview of the principles and mechanisms of taxation in Gabon, serving as a reference for both professionals and students.
The ‘Guide de doctrine fiscale’compiles over 500 tax resolutions and several major decisions regarding preliminary claims, as well as administrative instructions, aiming to unify the interpretation of fiscal texts and ensure consistent application of legislation across the nation.
The ‘Recueil de jurisprudence fiscale’, a first for the Gabonese administration, gathers and analyzes 38 decisions rendered over the past decade, highlighting key developments in fiscal litigation.
The DGI’s Assistant General Director emphasized the initiative’s aim to construct a modern tax administration capable of adapting to the economic environment, with tax compliance remaining a crucial aspect of national development funding.
The Minister Delegate for the Economy highlighted the strategic importance of legal certainty in bolstering Gabon’s economic attractiveness to investors.
The reference books are directed towards judges, lawyers, accountants, academics, students, economic operators, and DGI agents, aiming to reinforce fiscal citizenship and support the mobilization of public resources for Gabon’s development. This series of publications is part of the Ministry of Economy and Finance’s efforts to strengthen fiscal culture, legal security, and resource mobilization efforts for Gabon’s development.
