Mouila, Gabon — The technological baccalaureate exams commenced on Monday at the Nyonda Makita Technical High School in Mouila, the capital of Ngounié province in southern Gabon.
The Gabonese Press Agency (AGP) reported that 138 candidates are participating in this year’s session.
The center, which recorded 137 registered candidates, includes seven free candidates, with six enrolled in the Action Communication Administrative (ACA) series and one in the Accounting and Management (CG) series.
The official candidates number 130, divided among the ACA (52), Action Commercial et Comptable (ACC, 37), and CG (41) series.
An additional candidate is studying in a correctional environment, in accordance with the relevant authorities’provisions.
The first day of the exams, which began with philosophy and French, saw four absences, including two candidates in military training, one involved in an accident, and one free candidate.
The center is also hosting a deaf candidate receiving specific assistance and accommodations. Security measures, involving both the National Police and the National Gendarmerie, have been implemented to ensure the smooth conduct of the exams.
The center’s president, Donatien Guillaume Mayila, encouraged candidates to demonstrate discipline, calmness, and determination to excel in their exams. Despite the challenging nature of some subjects, candidates expressed confidence for the remainder of the exams.
The exam’s launch in Ngounié province reflects the region’s expanding educational landscape and the nation’s commitment to technical and vocational education.
