ENUGU, NIGERIA — The Dangote Group has outlined ambitious expansion plans, emphasizing its commitment to supporting Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Nigeria. Chairman Aliko Dangote made the announcement during the company’s Special Day at the ongoing 37th Enugu International Trade Fair, themed “Empowering MSMEs for Global Competitiveness “.
Representing Dangote, the South East Regional Director of Dangote Cement Plc, Olatunbosun Jinadu, highlighted the group’s “Vision 2030″strategy. This strategic approach aims to alleviate key constraints faced by MSMEs, including high costs of energy, raw materials, and infrastructure.
Jinadu disclosed that the group is planning to expand its petroleum refinery capacity from 650,000 to 1.4 million barrels per day, a move expected to significantly enhance output and efficiency. Additionally, the company is increasing its fertiliser production capacity to 12 million metric tonnes annually and expanding its polypropylene plant to cater to growing demand across multiple industries.
The regional director emphasized that these expansions are part of the group’s belief in Nigeria’s economic transformation, which is grounded in local production and industrial self-reliance.
