Kinshasa, DRC — April 17, 2026 The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) is addressing a multifaceted humanitarian crisis, prompting the DR Congo Humanitarian Fund (FH RDC) to initiate a critical intervention.
The fund has allocated 20 million USD for a Standard Allocation 2025 to address the urgent needs in several health zones across the North Kivu, South Kivu, Maniema, and Ituri regions. These areas have reached a critical threshold due to a combination of security shocks, epidemiological outbreaks, and structural challenges, including the deterioration of essential services and the reduction in the number of humanitarian actors. This convergence has heightened vulnerabilities, limited local response capacities, and increased the risks of preventable mortalities.
The FH RDC’s 2025 Standard Allocation is a multisectorial integrated response, focusing on stabilizing essential services, reinforcing community mechanisms, and supporting vital interventions in health, nutrition, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), food security, protection, and monetary transfers.
The allocation is specifically targeting internally displaced persons, returnees, and host communities with acute needs.
In line with the “Why Not Cash First “principle, 3. 8 million USD (19% of the allocation) has been dedicated to multi-purpose cash transfers (MCTs).
The selected partners have demonstrated robust operational presence and the ability to intervene swiftly in the targeted health zones.
In a move to support localization, 63% (12. 7 million USD) of the allocation has been allocated to national NGOs, with 9. 9 million USD provided through direct funding.
This strategic approach aims to empower national organizations in accessing funds and implementing aid programs.
The situation underscores the need for sustained and strategic humanitarian responses in the DRC, where the fund’s efforts are a testament to the ongoing commitment to alleviate suffering and provide essential services to those in need.
The FH RDC’s Standard Allocation 2025 represents a critical step in addressing the pressing humanitarian needs in the DRC.
As the fund continues to work tirelessly, the international community’s support and collaboration are crucial in ensuring that the most vulnerable populations receive the assistance they require.
