LIBREVILLE, 27 March 2026 — The Gabonese electricity and water provider, SEEG, has announced a critical maintenance operation on the 90 kV high-voltage line that connects Bissegué’s distribution station with Ambowé’s source station. The maintenance is scheduled for Sunday, 29 March, and is essential for repairing defects identified in the strategic power infrastructure of Libreville.
The operation will necessitate the temporary shutdown of the Ambowé and Angondjé source stations, leading to an electricity blackout from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM on the day of the work. This disruption is expected to impact the Akanda commune and parts of Libreville.
Despite the inconvenience, SEEG has pledged to perform the maintenance work swiftly to minimize the duration of the power outage. A gradual restoration of electricity is anticipated following the completion of the maintenance activities.
Affected residents and businesses are advised to stay informed through SEEG’s communication channels, where a detailed list of neighborhoods affected by the operation has been published. The company has extended its apologies for any discomfort caused by the scheduled interruption.
