Gabon to Compete in International Catering Cup Qualifiers. LIBREVILLE, Gabon — Gabon is set to showcase its culinary talents on the international stage, with three of its citizens vying for spots in the African qualifiers for the International Catering Cup (ICC) 2027.
The competition, which is seen as the “World Cup “of the catering industry, will see five African countries compete for two slots to represent the continent in the global finals at Sirha Lyon, an international gastronomy fair.
The Gabonese team, led by Chef Lalaina Ravelomanana, ICC Africa ambassador, includes Lewis Japhet Paul Edowisa Nziengui, Christina Nelle Bayonne Mavoungou, and O’miel Moundounga.
The qualifying round is scheduled for June 13 and 14, 2026, in Antananarivo, Madagascar, as reported by the Gabonese Press Agency.
The ICC, founded by Joël Mauvigney, aims to promote the excellence and creativity of catering professionals worldwide.
The competition is organized under the guidance of Ellena Raobelina, director of African qualifications, and is supported by Mauvigney, who is also a “Meilleur Ouvrier de France “(Best Craftsman in France).
The upcoming qualifiers are a significant event for Gabon’s culinary community, offering a platform to demonstrate the country’s gastronomic skills and creativity on an international level.
