Gabon: National Foot 1 Matches Postponed Due to Stadium Suspensions. LIBREVILLE, Gabon — 13 March 2026 (AGP) – The Gabonese Professional Football League (Linafp) announced on Friday the postponement of the opening matches of the National Foot 1 season, which were scheduled to feature Lozosport against the Union sportive de Bitam and As Dikaki versus Bouenguidi Sport.
The rescheduling comes in response to directives from authorities regarding the suspension of the Mbeba Stadium in Lastourville and the Mbombet Stadium in Mouila, as per a press release received by the Gabonese Press Agency.
The first day of the National Foot 1, which commenced last weekend in Lambaréné, will continue this Saturday, 14 March, in Port-Gentil, Ogooué-Maritime, with the match between Stade Mandji and FC 105.
In Woleu — Ntem, at Oyem, the Union Sportive d’Oyem will face the AO CMS at the Akouakam Stadium.
In Franceville, Haut — Ogooué, the promoted Ogooué FC will take its first steps in the elite division against Lambaréné Athletic Club at the Mbaya Stadium.
In Libreville, the clash between Vautour Club and the promoted Oyem AC will take place at the Stade Monedan de Sibang. All these matches are scheduled to start at 15h30.
The Stade Migovéen currently leads the championship temporarily following a walkover victory against Mangasport, as the defending champion was sanctioned for fielding five ineligible players.
The decision to postpone the matches is a result of the authorities’instructions to suspend the two stadiums, which have not been specified in the communiqué.
The rescheduled matches are expected to proceed without further disruption, with the league looking to maintain its schedule as closely as possible. Further details regarding the rescheduling of the affected matches and the reasons behind the suspension of the stadiums are expected to be released in the coming days.
The Gabonese football community awaits clarity on the situation, hoping that the season can continue smoothly.
