Gabon: Construction of Koulamoutou’s One-Stop Shop Halted for Over a Year. Koulamoutou, Gabon — 19 March 2026 (AGP) Construction of a one-stop shop in Koulamoutou, the provincial capital of Ogooué-Lolo in Gabon’s southeastern region, has been halted for over a year, according to the Gabonese Press Agency.
The project, initiated by the Committee for the Transition and Restoration of Institutions (CTRI) during the country’s transitional period, aims to modernize administrative services in the city.
The facility, situated in the second arrondissement of Koulamoutou, is intended to house the National Agency for the Promotion of Investments (ANPI), the National Agency for Urbanism, Topographical and Cadastral Works (ANUTC), and the National Pole for the Promotion of Employment (PNPE).
The building, a single — story structure spanning 51 meters in length and 13 meters in width, is nearly 40% complete, reports the Agence gabonaise de presse.
However, the project has been stopped due to a lack of funding, according to Paul Ndinga, president of the Gabonese Association of Entrepreneurs and general manager of the contractor company.
He explained that after the payment of the first installment, representing 30% of the contract value, no further payments were made, forcing the halt of the works. Officials commented on the matter.
Despite the halt, the company remains hopeful for the project’s resumption.
They recall promises made by President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema during his recent visit to Koulamoutou regarding the payment of ongoing work during the Transition period.
The site, now exposed to degradation, is suffering from the proliferation of weeds, and the materials stored there are progressively deteriorating. Further details are expected as the situation develops.
