FRANCEVILLE, Gabon — In southeastern Gabon’s Haut-Ogooué province, a sensitization campaign is underway to prepare collective households for the upcoming Recensement Général de la Population et des Logements (RGPL), or General Population and Housing Census.
The campaign, led by the Planning Department, has visited key sites in Franceville, the province’s capital, including the University Hospital Amissa Bongo, the Central Prison of Franceville, the university campus, and the Hosanna Orphanage. The aim is to inform residents about the census process and ensure a smooth enumeration.
Noëlle Obounou Abeghe, the mission’s responsible officer, emphasized the importance of each collective household’s leadership in disseminating the information. “Our mission is to inform that the census is ongoing and that enumerators will soon be visiting, “she.
The campaign concluded with the distribution of donations to the Central Prison and the Hosanna Orphanage, highlighting the community’s involvement in the census preparation efforts.
