Libreville, Gabon — The Zone d’Investissement Spéciale (ZIS) Baie des Rois, a designated special economic zone in Gabon, is poised to introduce its single-window service by July 2026. This initiative, spearheaded by the Gabonese National Investment Promotion Agency (ANPI-Gabon), aims to expedite administrative procedures and enhance the investor experience.
The single — window service, to be managed under the direct authority of the Administrator General of the ZIS Baie des Rois, Ghislain Moandza Mboma, will consolidate various state services such as Taxes, Customs, Immigration, Labor, Environment, Tourism, SMEs, and ANPI-Gabon into a unified platform. This will facilitate a more rapid, coordinated, and secure processing of investor files.
The strategic meeting held in Libreville, attended by investors and economic operators already established or in the process of setting up in the zone, marked the operationalization of this investment zone.
The meeting, copresided by Mboma and the Director General of the Facade Maritime du Champ Triomphal (FMCT), Emmanuel Edane, underscored the commitment to strengthening administrative proximity and improving investor support.
The ZIS Baie des Rois, developed by the Facade Maritime Champ Triomphal, a subsidiary of the Gabonese Strategic Investments Fund (FGIS), was designated as a Special Investment Zone on June 24, 2024. It is anticipated that the single-window service will attract more investments and stimulate economic growth in the region.
As the single — window service is set to launch, observers are keen to see its impact on investment and urban development in the region.
The success of the ZIS Baie des Rois could serve as a model for other African cities aiming to attract investment and modernize their urban landscapes.
