Baidoa, Somalia — President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H. E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, held a meeting with the Mayor of Baidoa, Abdullahi Ali Watiin, to discuss the city’s development and address ongoing challenges. The meeting aimed to provide an overview of Baidoa’s progress in security and social services, as well as the need for enhanced coordination between federal and state institutions.
During the encounter, Mayor Watiin presented a detailed report to President Mohamud, outlining the city’s advancements in security and social services, along with the collaborative efforts to tackle key challenges. President Mohamud praised the Baidoa district administration’s efforts and emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration among government agencies to ensure sustainable security, tangible development, and the provision of quality public services.
In response to the report, President Mohamud directed relevant institutions to expedite the implementation of development projects and relief programs. These efforts are aimed at bolstering community resilience and improving infrastructure in Baidoa. The meeting highlighted the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting regional administrations and promoting inclusive development across Somalia.
The session was attended by the Speaker of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament, Sheikh Aden Mohamed Nur, the Interim Leader of South West State, Jibril Abdirashid Haji, and the Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation, Ali Yusuf Ali.
