The suspect is believed to have been involved in the assassination of Hassana Toumbara, a well — known merchant in the Onkoula neighborhood of Moanda, the capital of the Lébombi-Léyou department in the Haut-Ogooué region.
According to sources close to the investigation, Otounga was captured on Wednesday in a suburban area of Libreville and has since been transferred to Franceville under police escort. He is currently being held at the local police judicial offices where he is being interrogated by investigators.
The suspect is expected to appear before a magistrate at the Franceville First Instance Court in the coming days, with a detention order possible based on the findings of the inquiry.
