In Marrakech, Huawei Morocco took the stage for its fourth consecutive appearance at GITEX Africa, presenting a comprehensive range of technology solutions aimed at revolutionizing sectors beyond telecommunications. The event, which ran from April 7 to 9, attracted over 1,500 exhibitors and 55,000 visitors, providing a platform for Huawei to highlight its commitment to Africa’s digital transformation. Under the theme “Advancing All Intelligence for New Africa,” the company showcased its expertise in ICT, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence, emphasizing its role as a key driver of innovation.
David Li, General Manager of Huawei Morocco, emphasized the company’s vision for a connected, resilient, and sustainable Africa. “Our participation in GITEX Africa 2026 is a testament to our belief in digital intelligence as a transformative force across the continent,” Li stated. The focus on vertical AI, or industry-specific AI solutions, was a cornerstone of Huawei’s presentation, offering tailored solutions to sectors such as government, defense, and public administration.
Bouaamri Abdelali, Pan Gov Director at Huawei Morocco, highlighted the company’s expanded client base, which now includes government agencies, defense institutions, banks, and public administration bodies. He underlined Huawei’s commitment to delivering specialized AI solutions, noting that these are crucial for domains like healthcare, defense, and security. “Artificial intelligence is not here to replace humans,” said Bouaamri, “but humans who do not use artificial intelligence will disappear.” This perspective was echoed throughout Huawei’s GITEX Africa presence, underscoring the importance of AI adoption for competitiveness.
Adil Taleb, Datacom CTO at Huawei Morocco, provided insight into the company’s exhibition, which showcased AI-based solutions across industries including finance, healthcare, and government. The demonstrations highlighted Huawei’s capabilities in digital experience, networking, cybersecurity, and computing infrastructure, all designed to support Africa’s digital transformation. Huawei’s vision of “One Network, One Cloud” was central to its presentation, aiming to build resilient digital infrastructure and unlock new value through intelligent technologies.
Beyond AI, Huawei presented a diverse array of solutions tailored to different sectors, including advanced datacom solutions, all — scenario data storage, and all-optical networks. The company’s offerings extended to finance, where it presented digital banking solutions, and to the carrier domain, with 5G acceleration and all-optical era transitions. In energy, Huawei showcased intelligent mining solutions, while transportation, education, and healthcare also featured prominently in its presentation.
Nabil Ouchagour, Business Environment Director at Huawei Morocco, highlighted the significance of the event, coinciding with Morocco’s post-5G era. He emphasized Huawei’s role in supporting Morocco’s digital priorities, including renewable energy. Ouchagour also outlined Huawei’s extensive network of institutional collaborations, reflecting the company’s intent to integrate itself across Morocco’s digital ecosystem. As Huawei looks to the future, its participation at GITEX Africa 2026 signaled its intent to compete across all sectors, offering solutions that address Africa’s evolving digital landscape.
