Gabon: Director Tours Lébamba School Infrastructure Preparing for 2026-2027 Academic Year BODY: LÉBAMBA, Gabon – The Director of the Provincial Academy of Ngounié, Ilagou Mboumba, conducted a field visit to Lébamba, Ngounié Province, on July 26, 2026.
The visit aimed to assess the school infrastructure set to be operational for the 2026-2027 academic year. Accompanied by the Secretary General of the province, the Prefect of the Louetsi-Wano Department, and the Mayor of Lébamba, the director evaluated the facilities that will soon welcome students.
The delegation inspected the administrative building, which houses the director’s office, the secretary’s office, the Chief Inspector’s office, and various other rooms.
The primary school education building consists of two buildings with four classrooms each, providing a total of eight classrooms. Each classroom is equipped with fifteen tables and two benches, a blackboard, and seating for 30 students.
The pre — primary education building has two offices and classrooms for children aged 3 to 5, a multimedia room, and storage space, with two toilets available.
The entire school compound is enclosed, ensuring safety for students, staff, and property. This visit is part of the broader initiative by the Gabonese government to modernize the education system, which includes the construction, rehabilitation, and expansion of school infrastructures across the country.
As the 2026-2027 academic year approaches, the government faces the challenge of ensuring that these infrastructures meet the needs of the growing student population.
