LIBREVILLE, Gabon — On July 16, 2026, the Mayor of Libreville, Eugène M’ba, embarked on a visit to the municipal market of André Camille Nzong in Mindoubé, located in the 5th arrondissement.
The visit, which emphasized accessibility and community engagement, allowed the municipal authority to interact directly with traders, document their logistical concerns, and outline concrete development plans for their businesses.
The mayor was warmly received by the traders, and the visit was accompanied by a delegation including his two, three, and five deputy mayors, as well as the Deputy Director General of Markets.
The visit aimed to grasp the daily realities of the economic actors in the market area. During the discussions, traders highlighted the major difficulties hindering their economic growth. Beyond the practical issue of non-functioning public toilets at the market, the need for structural support was a recurring theme.
In response to these grievances, Mayor M’ba reassured the traders by reminding them of the rigorous follow-up provided by the Second Deputy Mayor, Mr. Juste Roméo Mouyopa, through the General Directorate of Markets and the General Directorate of Economic Activities (DGAE). To address the issue of access to financing, Mayor M’ba encouraged traders to be bold and seek support from the Banque pour le Commerce et l’Entrepreneuriat du Gabon (BCEG), an institution offering financial support mechanisms specifically tailored for local entrepreneurs.
