Libreville, Gabon — The Club d’affaires pour le développement des entreprises européennes et francophones en Afrique (CADEEFA) is set to host the Rencontres de l’Industrie, an event that will see 20 European companies converge in Libreville from June 23 to 26, 2026. This significant gathering, organized by CADEEFA, aims to foster business partnerships and promote economic development between European and French-speaking African enterprises.
The event is a strategic response to an initiative by Gabonese President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, who called on the Gabonese diaspora to contribute to the nation’s growth. CADEEFA President Sabrine Bouafassa highlighted that the primary objective is to connect the European firms with approximately 200 Gabonese companies in sectors such as construction, mining, energy, services, and education.
Additionally, 60 students from various professional schools and universities have been selected to participate. Bouafassa emphasized that the Rencontres de l’Industrie will enable European companies to explore the Gabonese market and establish sustainable partnerships that emphasize knowledge transfer.
The event is expected to feature institutional conferences, B2B/B2G meetings, workshops for young talent, job fairs, and immersive visits, providing a comprehensive platform for networking and knowledge exchange.
The director general of the Libreville Chamber of Commerce, Danielle Cibelle Biwaou, and the technical advisor to the Minister of Industry and Local Transformation, Jean — François Yanda, were among the dignitaries present at the press conference. Yanda announced the ministry’s support for the event, emphasizing the importance of multiplying partnerships to advance key projects in Gabon.
The Rencontres de l’Industrie is poised to be a pivotal moment in Gabon’s economic history, underlining the nation’s commitment to diversifying its economy and attracting foreign investment. It is a testament to the strategic focus on key sectors that will ensure sustainable economic development and position Gabon as a leading player in Africa’s economic landscape.
