Lagos, Nigeria — Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have successfully neutralized scores of Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in a series of foiled attacks across Borno State, according to a press statement by the Media Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI, Lt. Col. Sani Uba. The operations, which took place between March 31 and April 4, 2026, resulted in the arrest of suspects and the disruption of logistics networks.
In a significant operation, troops from Sector 2 of OPHK, stationed at Geidam, worked alongside the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) on credible intelligence to engage terrorist logistics suppliers near Geidam. During a fierce encounter, three terrorists were neutralized, and a logistics-laden vehicle was disabled. Items seized included food supplies, mobile phones, and other materials intended for terrorist camps.
Troops also ambushed terrorists attempting to emplace Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) along the Konduga-Kawuri axis, neutralizing two insurgents with decisive firepower and recovering weapons and ammunition. In another counter-IED operation, troops discovered and safely detonated an IED along the Ngoshe-Pulka road, preventing potential casualties.
In Adamawa State, OPHK troops under Sector 4, in collaboration with local hunters, conducted an offensive operation in the Mubi North Local Government Area, leading to the arrest of three Boko Haram/ISWAP members. One of the suspects had previously gathered intelligence on troops’locations and activities, and all were in custody for further investigation.
Further operations resulted in the arrest of three terrorist logistics suppliers in Mainok market, the recovery of livestock, mobile phones, and cash, and the interception of a vehicle conveying terrorist elements in Yobe State. The occupants, including two with gunshot wounds, were in custody for further investigation.
The OPHK troops also apprehended Boko Haram/ISWAP informants and collaborators attempting to cross into neighboring areas, as well as a foreign national at a checkpoint under suspicious circumstances. The Military High Command commended the troops for their resilience, vigilance, and professionalism, urging them to sustain the momentum in the ongoing operations for the security and economic interest of the North East region.
