LAMBARÉNÉ, Gabon – June 17, 2026 – In an effort to reinforce national identity and enhance public service, the department of Ogooué-et-des-Lacs, in collaboration with the School of Preparation for Administrative Careers (EPCA), has launched a seminar aimed at training public agents in the province of Moyen-Ogooué on the symbols of the Republic.
The seminar, which took place in Lambaréné, is part of a broader strategy to bolster the knowledge and skills of public servants in the province. It follows an agreement between the University Omar Bongo (UOB) and the Ministry of Public Function to provide in-country training to state agents, focusing on adapting their skills to current challenges. Prefect Sylvère Ulrich Mavioga opened the seminar, highlighting the significance of understanding the symbols of the Republic.
He emphasized that the administration relies on rules and codes that govern public action, and it is essential for every agent to master the acts they perform in their official capacity.
The training sessions, set to continue throughout June 2026, cover various topics, including the historical significance of Gabon’s national symbols and their practical application in public service. Experts from the UOB are facilitating the training, offering a comprehensive understanding of the symbols of the Republic. This initiative is part of a larger strategy to modernize Gabon’s public administration and ensure that public servants are prepared to meet the demands of the modern world.
The training program in Lambaréné is expected to have a lasting impact on public service in Moyen-Ogooué, contributing to the overall development of Gabon’s administrative infrastructure.
