Port — Gentil, Gabon — 6 February 2026 (AGP) — Gabon Loisirs et Tourisme (GLT) has announced the acquisition of Newrest Gabon, a move aimed at securing jobs and continuing catering services, reports the Agence Gabonaise de Presse.
The General Manager of Gabon Loisirs et Tourisme, Ange Poungou, made the announcement on Friday. Poungou emphasized that the acquisition of Newrest Gabon is a significant responsibility for the group.
He stated that the current context is challenging and requires organized, practical responses.
The primary focus is to ensure the continuity of operations, preserve employment, and progressively stabilize the company in close collaboration with teams and partners.
The acquisition has been formalized through a cession agreement covering the assumption of the company’s assets and liabilities.
The operation aims to ensure the continuity of operations, job preservation, and the continuation of essential services in a sector crucial to many public and private entities.
The transaction involves more than 300 employees spread across nine sites nationwide and includes collective catering and associated services valued at over 10 billion CFA francs annually. With a history of over fifteen years, Gabon Loisirs et Tourisme is a fully Gabonese company specializing in catering services, including collective dining and associated services.
The company employs over 600 staff members. END.
