The training session, which will run from Tuesday through Saturday, July 18, is led by FIVB-certified level III coach, Olivier Batonga. Batonga arrived in Libreville on July 12, where he has been engaged in a four-day intensive to share his expertise with local coaches.
The event is part of a larger effort to professionalize volleyball in Gabon, which includes the recent certification of 32 coaches who completed a level 1 coaching program between April 21 and 25, 2026. This latest training program is anticipated to discover and cultivate future volleyball champions within the nation.
The Jets Volley Camp, an initiative supported by the Presidency of the Republic and set to begin on August 4, 2025, is also aimed at identifying and training young talent, aiming to elevate the sport’s standards domestically and internationally.
