Port — Gentil, Gabon – July 24, 2026 – The Council municipal of Port-Gentil, the economic capital of Gabon, convened on this date to adopt a series of reforms aimed at modernizing local governance.
The session, presided over by Mayor Pascal Houangni Ambouroué, marked a significant step in the city’s development strategy.

Furthermore, the councilors approved seeking technical and financial partners to relaunch the Festival Mandji Culture and to rehabilitate and construct patrimonial and commemorative monuments.
A Day of Patriotic Sanitation was also established to mobilize citizens around issues of cleanliness and the preservation of the living environment.
The reforms come in the wake of an internal audit that revealed several dysfunctions in the financial, administrative, and human resources sectors.
