A disturbing report by Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) reveals that sexual violence has become an “everyday “occurrence in various regions of Sudan, extending beyond areas experiencing active conflict. The report, based on testimonies from victims treated between January 2024 and November 2025, paints a harrowing picture of the extent to which sexual violence affects Sudanese citizens. According to MSF, victims have been targeted while carrying out their everyday activities, including working in fields, traveling to markets, and attending schools.
The report highlights the urgency of addressing this crisis, as sexual violence is not limited to conflict zones, but is pervasive in communities across Sudan. Many of the victims interviewed by MSF were women and children, who described incidents that have left them with severe physical and psychological scars. “We cannot turn a blind eye to the fact that sexual violence has become a daily occurrence in our communities, “said Dr.
