Khartoum, Sudan — In a chilling revelation, Amnesty International has levelled grave accusations against Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) for a brutal assault on the Zamzam camp in North Darfur, marking a harrowing escalation in the region’s ongoing conflict.
The Zamzam camp, a sanctuary for an estimated 700,000 internally displaced persons, bore the brunt of RSF’s violent campaign between April 11 and 13, 2025. This assault, characterized by the use of explosive weapons and indiscriminate firing in densely populated areas, has left a trail of death and destruction.
According to Amnesty International’s harrowing report, at least 47 civilians were killed by RSF fighters, including those seeking refuge in mosques, clinics, and homes.
