The country has entered the cooler and drier June — August period, following the main rainfall season, with the Tanzania Meteorological Authority continuously monitoring and communicating weather-related risks. From May 4th to 7th, 2026, a simulation design workshop was held, engaging facilitators in the planning of emergency logistics exercises. This workshop established methodology, delivery modes, and draft injects to guide the Emergency Logistics simulation exercise, reflecting a proactive approach to disaster management.
The national humanitarian logistics efforts have been prioritizing operational readiness for weather — related emergencies, with stakeholders maintaining coordination and monitoring of emerging risks. These preparedness actions are in line with the national Contingency Plan for drought, flood, and related hazards (November 2025–June 2026), contributing to strengthening the country’s capacity to anticipate and respond to emergencies.
