Since April 2023, the influx of Sudanese refugees and Chadian returnees has been monitored and assisted in the provinces of Ouaddai, Sila, Wadi-Fira, and Ennedi Est, according to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. Humanitarian agencies are supporting the Chadian Government and local authorities in providing lifesaving assistance and protection services.

The Government of Chad and the UNHCR have helped relocate 67% of refugees from spontaneous arrival sites to extended and newly established settlements, where both refugees and host communities can benefit from the services offered by humanitarian teams.
