In Accra, Ghana, 2025 was a significant year for the nation’s health sector, witnessing reforms aimed at enhancing Universal Health Coverage (UHC), equity, and system resilience. Under the leadership of the WHO Representative, efforts were undertaken in collaboration with national and international partners to fortify health systems, broaden service access, and improve disease surveillance and response. Despite global health financing challenges and persistent public health threats, robust collaboration among government entities, partners, and communities maintained progress.
These collective endeavors are contributing to a more robust and community — focused health system.
The WHO has committed to continue supporting Ghana’s health priorities in 2026, focusing on technical expertise, strategic alliances, and a concentration on health promotion, system strengthening, and health security.
The WHO Ghana 2025 Annual Report details these advancements.
