Transylvania Beckons As FX Confirms Its Series Order for “Very Young Frankenstein, “a Comedic Reimagining of Mel Brooks’ Classic Film.
The project, which has been in development for nearly a year, secured a pilot order last September. Leading the cast are Zach Galifianakis, Dolly Wells, and Spencer House, with Brooks himself on board as an executive producer. FX and Hulu are set to distribute the series, which also counts “Atlanta “and “What We Do in the Shadows “creator Stefani Robinson and “The Grand Tour “director Taika Waititi among its executive producers.
20th Television is the studio behind this venture. FX Entertainment president Nick Grad describes “Very Young Frankenstein “as a blend of fan-favorite elements and the innovative spirit of FX comedies.
The series is expected to offer a fresh perspective on the tale of Dr. Frankenstein, set before the events of the 1974 film. Additional cast members include Kumail Nanjiani, Nikki Crawford, and Cary Elwes.
The show, which is anticipated to resonate with modern audiences, is poised to bring a unique twist to the beloved story. With production imminent, fans are eagerly awaiting the debut of this new series on both FX and Hulu.
