Healthcare and Public Services In the healthcare sector, the government has rehabilitated 14 operating theaters and intensive care units, installed scanners in Port-Gentil, Koulamoutou, and Mouila, deployed 268 general practitioners across the country, and recruited 400 doctors and midwives.
Additionally, 200 community health workers were trained in seven departments. Efforts to improve access to clean water and electricity include the declaration of a state of emergency for water distribution and the commissioning of the Bikélé-Nkok power line, increasing the Grand Poubara dam’s production capacity to 160 MW, and the installation of 30 thermal generators in 16 localities. Biyoghe emphasized that the success of these transformations depends on the involvement of all stakeholders.
