Agadir — Morocco’s Ministry of Health and Social Protection has initiated a national healthcare complaints system through the “Chikaya Santé”digital platform, aiming to enhance transparency and responsiveness in the healthcare sector. The platform’s launch was celebrated in Rabat, with Health Minister Amine Tehraoui in attendance, marking a shift towards a more patient-centric healthcare system.
The “Chikaya Santé”platform is a pivotal component of Morocco’s ongoing healthcare reforms, designed to integrate a national system for handling complaints related to both public and private health services. The Ministry of Health has emphasized that the project is part of a systematic update to better align with the expectations of the Moroccan public.
To facilitate efficient complaint handling, the ministry is establishing a specialized center staffed by over 20 professionals. This team, including call agents, supervisors, and central management personnel, is dedicated to ensuring rapid and effective responses. The platform offers a multi-channel submission process, enabling complaints to be filed through various means such as phone, online portal, email, WhatsApp, and SMS, thereby increasing accessibility.
Minister Tehraoui highlighted the significance of the platform in fostering a culture of responsiveness within the healthcare system. He stressed the importance of the platform in bolstering public confidence by ensuring timely and effective responses to complaints. The ministry has outlined the key elements of the system, including a national listening center with advanced digital tools, an integrated digital system for complaint tracking, and a framework for processing complaints within set timelines.
The minister has encouraged citizens to utilize the platform’s official online portal or the toll-free number 0801 00 53 53 for their complaints. This initiative is in line with the ministry’s broader healthcare reform agenda, which aims to bring the national health system closer to its citizens.
