Libreville, Gabon — July 22, 2026 – The Société Nationale Immobilière (SNI) has embarked on a major land development initiative, setting out to transform 1,350 parcels across five cities in Gabon’s interior. This move is part of the government’s broader strategy to enhance land access and meet the growing demand for developed land.
The cities targeted for this development are Port — Gentil, Mouila, Tchibanga, Makokou, and Ndendé.
The program’s initial phase focuses on the development of 900 parcels, with Mouila, Tchibanga, Makokou, and Ndendé receiving the lion’s share of the parcels.
The land development works have already commenced in Mouila and Tchibanga, with the first machinery arriving in Ndendé this week, and the start of works in Makokou scheduled for the week of July 27.
In Port — Gentil, 250 parcels are currently being developed.
The SNI’s program is a critical component of the national housing policy, which seeks to provide affordable housing options and stimulate private sector investment in the housing sector.
