MITZIC, Gabon — In a recent administrative move, the prefect of the Okano Department in northern Gabon, Serge Bekale Ango, conducted the installation of six new command assistants in the cantons of Doum and Okala, as reported by the Gabonese Press Agency.
The newly appointed assistants include Roger Mvener Meye, head of the Ngomessi — Ebéa village grouping; Josée Claire Ekomi Ekomi, head of the Ngomessi village; Obiang Nguema, head of Doum II village (V1); Joseph Nzoghe Mba, head of Minkoumou village (V2); Guy Roger Niyoghe Bi Mbore, head of Minkpwele village (V3); and Josette Okome Oyone, head of Dame II village. During his speech, Prefect Ango emphasized the critical role of command assistants in the administrative chain, acting as a bridge between the state and the population. The newly appointed assistants were also given guidelines on their responsibilities, the essence of public service, the duty of neutrality, and the need to remain close to the public they serve. The prefect’s visit was accompanied by a significant delegation of politico-administrative authorities, including Ornella Armelle Ntsame Ntoutoume, president of the Okano Departmental Council, Marius Bekale Ngoua, mayor of the Mitzic commune, departmental public service chiefs, and Honorable Pascal Eva Nze, deputy for the 2nd Okano seat.
