Johannesburg, South Africa — South African artist Tyla has introduced the tracklist for her upcoming album ‘A-Pop,’scheduled for release on July 24. Known for her hit single ‘Water,’Tyla has adopted a creative method to reveal the album’s contents, using fluorescent spray paint in a blacklight room to paint each song title on the walls.
The 14-track album includes previously released singles such as ‘Chanel,”Is It,’and ‘She Did It Again,’the latter a collaboration with Zara Larsson. Other tracks on the album are ‘That Girl,”Kiss,”Fairytale,’and ‘Mr. Nonchalant,’with ‘Hot Tubs’rounding out the collection.
In an interview with Billboard Africa, Tyla discussed the concept behind ‘A-Pop,’saying it represents a fusion of African music with the pop genre. “I bring the A to pop. It’s African pop; African music is pop music, “she explained.
‘A-Pop’follows Tyla’s 2024 self-titled debut, which reached No. 24 on the Billboard 200.
The album also marks Tyla’s foray into the film industry, with her voice acting debut in ‘Toy Story 5’as the inflatable flamingo.
The innovative way in which Tyla has unveiled her new album has sparked excitement among fans and critics, with many praising the artist’s commitment to artistic expression.
